SHINee's Minho Talks About Difficulties Of Filming Action Scenes For Upcoming Film "In Rang"
SHINee’s Minho talked about what it was like to film action scenes for his upcoming film “In Rang.”
The cast of “In Rang” held a red carpet event and showcase ahead of the film’s premiere on July 18. Actors Kang Dong Won, Han Hyo Joo, Jung Woo Sung, Kim Moo Yeol, and Minho attended, as well as director Kim Ji Woon.
A remake of the Japanese animated film, “Jin-Roh: The Wolf Brigade,” “In Rang” is an action sci-fi film set in 2029, when an anti-reunification terrorist group strikes after a five-year plan for the reunification of North and South Korea is announced. The film centers around special police unit and a government task force, and how their struggle with each other and against the terrorist group gives rise to wolf-like human weapons called “In Rang.”
For the film, Minho took on the role of Kim Cheol Jin, an ace of the special forces unit. He shared, “I cut my hair short and filmed with the mindset of a soldier.” He added, “There were a lot of action scenes. I usually believed, ‘I’m athletic,’ but that wasn’t the case. There were a lot of very difficult action scenes but thankfully I think they came out well. I think the director filmed it excellently.”
He also talked about what it was like to film while wearing “powered armor.” Minho explained, “When it was hot, it was blazing, and when it was cold, it was freezing. However, when I wore my powered armor, my strength increased. It felt like I had gotten strong, like I would win no matter who hit me. The only drawback was that it was weak to the heat and cold.”
“In Rang” will premiere on July 25.
