ASTRO’s Cha Eun Woo Shares How His Butt Saved Him From A Serious Injury
ASTRO’s Cha Eun Woo shows how an insecurity is something to embrace!
The idol recently appeared on the July 21 broadcast of JTBC’s “Ask Us Anything” with Im Soo Hyang, his co-star in “My ID is Gangnam Beauty.”
During a corner where cast members have to guess the correct answers to guests’ questions, Cha Eun Woo challenged, “I have an insecurity, but that insecurity was a huge asset in my life once. Try to figure out what that insecurity is, and how it helped me.”
While the cast quickly realized that Cha Eun Woo’s insecurity was the size of his butt, they couldn’t figure out the second part of the question. With additional hints given by the ASTRO member, Lee Soo Geun correctly guessed, “You were pierced by a nail, but you didn’t get that hurt because your butt has so much fat.”
Cha Eun Woo explained that it happened when ASTRO was filming the final scene of their music video and had to jump from a set. He said, “We had jumped, but— you know how it’s hard to time things perfectly with six people? As we landed at different times, the set ended up collapsing. As it collapsed, a nail pierced [my butt].”
“It came out right away, but one of the other members told me that I was bleeding,” he recalled. Cha Eun Woo shared that he didn’t realize what had happened right away because he had felt fine, but soon realized he really was bleeding profusely.
The ASTRO member was taken to the hospital right away, but he thankfully wasn’t seriously injured. Cha Eun Woo revealed, “The doctor calmly said, ‘While your injury was substantially deep, it luckily didn’t reach your bones, muscles, or nerves because you have a large rear with a lot of fat.'” He added, “Normally, [a similar injury] would require stitches, but I just had to get a tetanus shot.”
