KARD Talks About Their Respect And Admiration For BTS

In a recent interview with Newsen, KARD talked about their own success abroad, as well as their deep respect for BTS.

Their own success is thanks to the artists that have come before them, said the group. Specifically about BTS, KARD said, “They’re a big motivation for us.”

BM said, “I like them a lot. I’ve liked them ever since their debut. They have a very classy sound, which is something I want to learn, and I respect RM’s genius lyrics.”

Jiwoo said that there’s so much they have to learn from BTS, and that they’re closely watching the group in admiration. “I think that now, there’s is a genre called BTS. I hope that KARD can achieve the same.”

Grabbing No. 1 on Billboard is a dream for the members of KARD, who are actively promoting both in Korea and abroad. J.Seph said, “First, getting No. 1 on music shows is our goal, and our bigger goal is Billboard. It’s good to dream big, isn’t it?”

The group expressed their desire to really grow as both a group and as individual artists. Somin said, “The group was created with a long run in mind, so we want to keep doing music, and we want to show the members’ potentials.” Jiwoo added, “We’re known as KARD, but the members have their own styles. Like different pieces of a puzzle that come together as one, we want to be known as individual artists, too.”

Closing, BM said, “As an artist, you don’t know how long your career will be, but I want to keep creating great content.”
