“Let’s Eat 3” Entertains Viewers Not Only With Food, But Also With 2000s-Inspired Fashion
tvN’s “Let’s Eat 3” is delighting viewers by showing them delicious food and nostalgic fashion!
Goo Dae Young (played by Highlight’s Yoon Doojoon) has been taking viewers back to 2004 with the story of his past. His friend group back in the day was made up of Lee Ji Woo (played by Baek Jin Hee), Lee Seo Yeon (played by Lee Joo Woo), Bae Byung Sam (played by Kim Dong Young), Kim Jin Suk (played by Byung Hun), and Lee Sung Joo (played by Seo Byuock Jun), who have all been showing off their unique outfits.
Jang Joo Hee, the lead costume designer of “Let’s Eat 3,” said, “For Goo Dae Young’s outfits, I reflected his preference for tracksuits and soccer from past seasons.”
On Lee Ji Woo’s trademark overalls, vest, and baseball caps, Jang Joo Hee explained, “I emphasized the fact that she doesn’t have a big interest in dressing up yet, so she wears outfits with a bit of a boyish feel.” In contrast, her younger sister Lee Seo Yeon enjoys dressing up, so her more feminine outfits include cardigans, mini skirts, and heels.
Goo Dae Young’s other three friends from the past also steal the scene with their outfits. They wear wide-legged pants and checkered tops, showing viewers what was trendy at the time.
There are also some differences in each character’s personal style. Bae Byung Sam is a college student who only has a few pieces of clothing, Kim Jin Suk likes to keep up with trendy hairstyles and clothes, and Lee Sung Joo likes to stand out from his friends by wearing more unique jeans.
Actor Kim Dong Young commented, “In 2004, I was more interested in shoes than clothes, so I mostly wore tracksuits. I feel different wearing clothes from back then in this drama.” He added that he has been asking people around him who are around his age for advice on to portray his character better.
