Red Velvet Talks About New Title Track "Power Up," To Be Performed For 1st Time At Solo Concert
Red Velvet will be performing their new title track “Power Up” for the very first time at their upcoming solo concert in Seoul!
On July 31, the girl group announced that they would be offering fans a first glimpse of their much-anticipated summer comeback at their second solo concert “REDMARE.” The concert will take place over two nights on August 4 and 5 at the SK Olympic Handball Gymnasium in Seoul, ahead of the group’s comeback with their new mini album “Summer Magic” on August 6.
All five of the Red Velvet members expressed their excitement about their upcoming title track, which is described as an up-tempo dance pop song with an addictive sound. Yeri commented, “[‘Power Up’] is a song that we prepared in order to give strength to people who are exhausted from the summer heat, so I hope that you listen to it and find strength.” Seulgi agreed, “As the title says, it’s a song that helps you gain strength during the sweltering summer, and the dance is easy and fun.”
Joy added, “It’s a cute and exciting song, and it’d be great to listen to in the car when you go on vacation with your family or friends.” Irene remarked, “It’s cute because the beat feels like background music for a game, and the repetitive hook is addictive.” Wendy chimed in, “The more you listen to it, the happier you feel, and the more you sing it, the more fun it gets.”
“Power Up” will be released online as part of Red Velvet’s new mini album “Summer Magic” on August 6 at 6 p.m. KST. Check out the teasers here!
