Watch: Hoya, South Club, ONF, And More Blow The Audience Away On “Immortal Songs”
The August 4 episode had the contestants putting their own spin on songs by the legendary Kim Won Jun. ONF, VOISPER, Seo In Young, musical actor Min Woo Hyuk, South Club, modern rock band Monni, and Hoya took to the stage to put on performances that wowed the crowd.
First up was ONF, making their first appearance on the show. The group performed Kim Won Jun’s debut track “After Everyone Fell Asleep” (literal title), which was released in 1993 and therefore older than all of the members of ONF. The boy group brought their signature bright and refreshing charms to the song, and they wowed the crowd with their choreography and vocal talent.
South Club also impressed with their interpretation of “While You Were Gone” (literal title). Before the performance, Nam Tae Hyun had confessed, “I have this thing where I end up doing worse if I try too hard.” He went on to say, “I’m just going to focus on enjoying the stage without worrying about rankings. But it would be nice to come in first place.” Nam Tae Hyun did as promised and when South Club won their round, he shed tears of joy at their victory.
The last performance was by Hoya, who was making his first solo appearance on the show. He performed “You’re Mine” (literal title) and Kim Won Jun praised the stage and said, “It was so sexy and it was exactly the kind of stage the audience was hoping for [for this song].” Hoya teared up as he said, “I haven’t had many chances to stand on stage, so I worked hard to prepare for it with the mindset of, ‘I have to do well this time for me to have opportunities in the future.'”
After wowing the audience, Hoya took home first place with a score of 429. He shared a photo with his trophy and the caption, “Thank you for the ‘Immortal Songs’ win. I will continue to work hard on my music! To celebrate my win, I will be posting a dance practice video.”
