Regular People Try TWICE’s Nighttime Skincare Routine

Recently, TWICE’s Chaeyoung and Nayeon revealed their night skin routine on a live stream, baring their secret to idol youth and vitality to all.

Thankfully, the secret is not to “be TWICE.” It’s a meticulous eight-step process. Yea. It’s work, and it takes some time. (Ugh.) But it must see results, right? TWICE does it, and damn, look at TWICE!

If you’re looking for an extra punch in your routine, or you really need a nudge in the right direction because nothing you do seems to work, this is for you. It could the “something right” that you’ve been missing.

Step 1-4: Makeup remover

Take your makeup off. Deep breaths. Be patient.

Here’s what TWICE uses (in order):

Bifesta Moist Cleansing Sheets

First, eyes and lips! With these cleansing sheets by Bifesta, which Nayeon says are great for gently removing makeup, take off your eyes and lips. The name of the game is to be thorough; don’t toss the sheet after a couple of swipes.

La Roche-Posay Make-up Remover Milk and Biore Make-up Remover Perfect Oil

Next, use La Roche-Posay’s Make-up Remover Milk to remove whatever’s been sitting on your skin for hours and hours. Once you’ve got it rubbed into all the nooks and crannies on your face, use Biore’s Make-up Remover Perfect Oil to go over your eyes again, clearing out whatever you missed with the moist cleansing sheets.

Rinse.

Shiseido Perfect Whip Cleansing Foam

Finally! Wrap up cleansing with Shiseido’s Perfect Whip Cleansing Foam.

Just the cleansing portion of TWICE’s broadcast, from the beginning of step 1 to step 4, was a solid 13 minutes. Granted, it’s a broadcast and Nayeon and Chaeyoung are also talking, but it just goes to show how carefully the girls go about the cleanse and how important it is.

Now that there is absolutely nothing on your face, time to moisturize.

Step 5: Sheet mask

Replenish your skin with a sheet mask.

The TWICE members use Minion’s Amino Moist Face Mask, which comes highly recommended by Nayeon. Instead of just using the sheet mask, it’s important to, once the mask is on your face, squeeze every last drop of essence out of the packaging and add it onto the mask as well as your neck.

You can leave the mask on for about 10-15 minutes, or whenever you feel like your skin has absorbed most of the essence. For the broadcast, TWICE leaves the mask on for about 11 minutes.

Once removed, pat the remaining essence into your skin.

Step 6: Lip balm

So you’re prepared to tackle any situation with the softest of lips. Because anything can happen.

Once sheet masking is done, Nayeon and Chaeyoung use Lucas’ Papaw Ointment for their lips. Nayeon said she first used it after she received it from a fan, but it has been her go-to ever since, and is her secret for maintaining soft lips.

Step 7: Night cream

Heavy duty moisturizer to keep you dewy af ’til morning.

This one’s another recommendation from Nayeon (actually everything here is a recommendation from Nayeon..): Eucerin’s Hyaluron-Filler Night Cream. Apply to your entire face, gently patting it in, and be awed at the dewiness.

Occasionally, Nayeon says, she’ll apply a lot of this cream like it’s a face pack before she goes to bed.

Step 8: Eye cream

The things we do for our skin.

For the final step, use Meishoku’s Placenta Whitening Eye Cream under and around your eyes.

AND BE DONE. You made it! Keep at it and enjoy your baby soft, clear skin.
