Jang Nara In Talks For Upcoming SBS Thriller Drama

Jang Nara might be making a drama comeback soon!

On August 10, a source from SBS responded to reports about the actress getting cast for an upcoming drama. The source said, “We are positively discussing Jang Nara’s casting for the character Oh Sunny in SBS’s new Wednesday-Thursday drama ‘The Last Empress.'”

“The Last Empress” is set in 2018, but in an alternate reality where a constitutional monarchy exists. The story centers on the female lead who suddenly marries the emperor and finds herself dealing with power in the palace. The drama is described as a passionate melodrama and a crime thriller.

The character Jang Nara is in talks for is a musical actress. Previous reports mistakenly stated that Jang Nara was in talks for a role portraying the spokesperson for the imperial family.

“The Last Empress” is written by writer Kim Soon Ok who has written “Temptation of Wife,” “Jang Bo Ri Is Here,” “My Daughter, Geum Sa Wol,” and more. It will be directed by Joo Dong Min PD who worked on “Return.” The drama is scheduled to air in November.

Jang Nara might be joined by Choi Jin Hyuk as he is in talks to play Na Wang Sik, a mysterious character at the center of conflict. In addition, Sung Yuri was offered the role of the imperial family’s spokeswoman Min Yoo Ra.
