Ji Sung's New Drama "Familiar Wife" Achieves Highest Viewership Ratings Yet

tvN’s “Familiar Wife” has broken its own viewership record yet again!

The drama, which stars Ji Sung and Han Ji Min, has been gaining steam with each new episode. According to Nielsen Korea, the August 15 broadcast of “Familiar Wife” achieved average viewership ratings of 6.6 percent and a peak of 7.9 percent nationwide—its highest ratings yet. The drama also continued to take first place in its time slot across all channels, including public broadcast networks.

Additionally, “Familiar Wife” has been performing well with the key demographic of viewers ages 20 to 49. With its latest episode, the drama maintained its first place position in its time slot among tvN’s “target” viewers, scoring average ratings of 4.6 percent and a peak of 5.5 percent for the night.

On the latest episode of the drama, Cha Joo Hyuk (played by Ji Sung) started to grow accustomed to working with his bank colleague Seo Woo Jin (played by Han Ji Min), who was previously his wife in his original timeline. Although he initially hoped to have her transferred to another branch, he found himself softening up towards her after learning that her mother was suffering from Alzheimer’s disease, and his new knowledge also made him feel guilty about not having been a more considerate husband in his former reality.

Although Cha Joo Hyuk and Seo Woo Jin are nothing more than co-workers in their new timeline, her mother seemed to recognize him when she saw him for the first time. Seo Woo Jin chalked it up to her mother’s disease, but Cha Joo Hyuk was left wondering if her mother had actually remembered him from their other timeline, raising the question of whether she might be able to change their relationship in the present.
