Hello Venus's Nara Showcases Her Anchorwoman Skills On "Your Honor"

Hello Venus’s Nara is receiving praise for her perfect delivery as an anchorwoman in SBS’s Wednesday-Thursday drama “Your Honor.”

In last week’s episode, Nara’s character Joo Eun received instructions to make a statement after given two lines of information: that a top lawyer at the nation’s most esteemed law firm bribed a government official at the Department of Justice.

Joo Eun shared this with Han Kang Ho (Yoon Shi Yoon) and asked for his legal opinion. She is also given more information after hearing a conversation between him and Song So Eun (Lee Yoo Young).

What was supposed to be a two-line statement became longer after details regarding things such as golf, government employees, gifts, bribes, and the Kim Young Ran Act were added. Even with a longer statement, Nara handled the segment very well.

The scene was actually filmed at the location for SBS’s 8 o’clock news. Nara was seen going over places where she would be acting with the staff. When she was ready, she brought out a piece of paper which showed hours of practice with her underlined notes. When filming actually started, she looked confidently into the camera and read her lines perfectly along with the video in the background.

Nara had already received coaching from SBS anchors Jo Jung Shik and Kim Sun Jae regarding succinct pronunciation and different ways to read aloud. Her training paid off during the scene, as she did not make mistakes even after multiple takes. After filming, the production staff stated, “She did so well. It was to the point where she could be inserted into the news as an actual anchorwoman.”

One staff member mentioned, “Nara will definitely gain attention with her amazing performance as an anchorwoman. As she is someone who tries her best in everything she’s given, please cheer her on so she can continue to grow as an actress.”

SBS’s “Your Honor” is a transformation story about a man who was on the wrong side of the law that ends up impersonating his brother who happens to be a well respected judge.

The drama airs every Wednesday and Thursday at 10 p.m. KST.
