Yano Shiho On Raising Choo Sarang And The Importance Of Diversity

On August 17, Elle Japan shared an essay written by Yano Shiho about parenting, her daughter Choo Sarang, and more.

Yano Shiho wrote that they’d recently spent three weeks in New York, and that Choo Sarang had attended a summer camp there. She also said that after Choo Sarang walked the runway as a model at a fashion show in Paris, she’s become very interested in modeling.

Yano Shiho wrote, “There was a time when I was worried about whether to send Sarang to a Japanese elementary school or an international school.”

“I think that it’s important to let your child experience a variety of different cultural environments,” she continued. “Choo Sarang has been learning both Japanese and Korean since she was young. That may be why she right away speaks to people openly, even if she’s meeting them for the first time. I hope that she continues to establish this kind of identity.”

Yano Shiho’s husband Choo Sung Hoon and their daughter Choo Sarang were one of the first families on the popular reality show “The Return of Superman,” and Yano Shiho often made appearances on the show. Last year, the family also filmed a reality show titled “Choovely’s Outing” in Mongolia. They recently moved to Hawaii.
