According to Nielsen Korea, the August 17 episode of SBS’s “Law of the Jungle” took the top spot in viewership ratings among all Friday variety shows.
The episode brought in ratings of 10.7 percent in the metropolitan area, with the peak ratings at 12.2 percent. In the same time slot, MBC’s “Those Who Cross the Line” got 5.0 percent ratings, JTBC’s “LAN Life” got 2.2 percent, and tvN’s “Grandpas Over Flowers Returns” got 8.4 percent.

During the episode, Kim Byung Man and his team visited a protected island where sea turtles go to lay their eggs. With the help of a park ranger, the team learned how to search for sea turtle eggs and bring them to hatcheries where they can be safely hatched before being reintroduced to the wild.
At one point, Wanna One’s Ong Seong Woo said he felt like a parent to the sea turtle eggs, saying, “My children, my babies… It’s the first time I’ve felt like this.” The moment was the highest-rated part of the episode (12.2 percent).
Last week, Ong Seong Woo’s mukbang [eating broadcast] also brought in the highest-rated moment of the episode.
The next episode of “Law of the Jungle” will be delayed due to the 2018 Asian Games and is scheduled to air on August 24 at 11:30 p.m. KST.
