3 Helpful Cleaning Tips We Learned From "Your House Helper"

Ha Seok Jin has given us some good tips about cleaning on KBS’s “Your House Helper.” In the drama, he plays a perfect male house helper who helps to professionally empty and clean out the chaotic homes, crazy lives, and the complicated minds of several women. Here are three helpful tips we can take from him.

1. Cleaning your closet

The first place Ha Seok Jin cleaned up when he went to Jeon Soo Jin‘s house is her closet. When Jeon Soo Jin complained that there’s no use cleaning up her closet since it will eventually become a mess again, Ha Seok Jin refuted, “That kind of thought prevents change. You can change it as long as you change your mind and keep trying.”

The jungle-like closet became neat in simple ways, such as folding laundry into three layers, distinguishing clothes that have been worn by hanging them up in the reverse direction, and placing mothballs at the top of the closet. This is how people with the same problem as Jeon Soo Jin can muster up the courage to open their own closets.

2. Cleaning your stove

The hood of Jeon Soo Jin’s stove was so dirty that it was impossible to cook. That’s when Ha Seok Jin came in and saved the day with his skillful cleaning methods. Since cockroaches like the oil smell that comes through the vents, hood cleaning is often recommended and baking soda is used to remove oil stains. First, you put baking soda for cleaning, pour boiling water into the oil stain, and clean the brush hood with baking soda.

3. Cleaning your bathroom

Ha Seok Jin also has advice for making your bathroom spick and span. The expensive environmentally friendly detergent is actually a mixture of three parts of water and one part of vinegar. It even contains a scientific principle that soap stains and ammonia in alkaline toilets melt with acid vinegar. The mirror covered with toothpaste soap, hardened soap, and even toilet seat glistened after it was sprayed with the vinegar water.
