Watch: gugudan's Kim Sejeong Unexpectedly Cries While Thinking About Her Mom On "Galileo"

gugudan’s Kim Sejeong surprised herself when she became emotional on tvN’s “Galileo.”

“Galileo” is a sci-fi variety show where celebrities simulate life on Mars by living at the Mars Desert Research Station (MDRS) in Utah.

On the August 19 broadcast, Kim Sejeong became excited at the thought of cooking for her crew members using her mom’s kimchi. She did a happy dance in the kitchen and took a good whiff of the classic Korean side dish.

She said, “Kimchi! I missed you so much. Mom! I suddenly miss my mom.” When she began to tear up, Kim Sejeong commented to herself, “What’s going on? I must be crazy.”

She then grabbed some tissues and wiped away the tears on her face. Standing in the kitchen by herself, she cried as she thought about her mom.

She later explained, “When I saw the kimchi, it made me think about my mom a lot. Before coming here, I had been like, ‘They said we’re going!’ I just said [vague] things like that. If she sounded concerned, I’d just say, ‘Why are you worried?'”

Reverting her attention back to cooking, she stated, “If I really were to go to space, I would really miss my family. Really.” After looking out the window, she added, “My feelings haven’t been whole since yesterday. Where is the ‘worry doll?'”

“Galileo” airs on Sundays at 4:40 p.m. KST.
