Seo Kang Joon, Esom, And More Gather For Script Reading Of New Romantic Comedy Drama

Upcoming JTBC drama “The Third Charm” (working title) has released photos from its first script reading.

“The Third Charm” is a romantic comedy about On Joon Young (played by Seo Kang Joon) and Lee Young Jae (played by Esom), who fell in love with each other’s third charm. The drama will tell the story of their 12-year love story including their spring as 20-year-olds, summer as 27-year-olds, and fall and winter as 32-year-olds.

The script reading took place in July with director Pyo Min Soo, writer Park Eun Young, and cast members Seo Kang Joon, Esom, Yang Dong Geun, Lee Yoon Ji, Lee Sang Yi, Park Kyu Young, Shin Do Hyun, Oh Young Shil, and Park Ji Il in attendance. The cast and crew greeted one another and excitedly began practicing their lines.

Seo Kang Joon, who will portray the meticulous, sensitive, and ultra-realistic On Joon Young, was fully immersed in his character. During the reading, he transformed into the innocent, sweet 20-year-old student.

Esom showed a different side to her as her character Lee Young Jae, who has a personality similar to an active volcano. She also showcased her character’s honest, confident, and lovely aspects. Seo Kang Joon and Esom displayed great chemistry while reading their lines and made everyone look forward to their 12-year love story.

Yang Dong Geun will appear as Lee Young Jae’s older brother Lee Soo Jae. He acted out his character’s unique way of speaking, facial expressions, and gestures. Lee Yoon Ji also perfectly portrayed Baek Joo Ran, Lee Young Jae’s best friend and an older woman in search of her one true love. Yang Dong Geun and Lee Yoon Ji made people laugh by adding funny, realistic aspects to the drama.

After the script reading was over, the actors said that they were looking forward to filming their fun drama.

The drama is co-written by Park Hee Kwon of the film “Flu” and Park Eun Young of “My Dear Enemy.” It will be directed by Pyo Min Soo whose works include “Full House,” “Worlds Within,” “Fool’s Love,” and “The Producers.”

“The Third Charm” will premiere in September as the follow-up to “My ID is Gangnam Beauty.”
