Lee Se Young In Talks To Star In Drama Remake Of

Lee Se Young may be starring in the upcoming drama adaptation of the film “Gwanghae: The Man Who Became King”!

On August 22, Lee Se Young’s agency Prain TPC confirmed that the actress was considering appearing in the drama as the female lead. An agency representative stated, “Lee Se Young has received a casting offer for ‘Gwanghae: The Man Who Became King’ and is currently reviewing the offer with a favorable outlook. However, nothing has been decided yet.”

Earlier this month, actor Yeo Jin Goo‘s agency also confirmed that he was in talks to star in the upcoming drama.

The film version of “Gwanghae: The Man Who Became King,” which starred Lee Byung Hun and Han Hyo Joo, was a smash success upon its release in 2012. Yeo Jin Goo is currently considering the titular role of Gwanghae, which was originally played by Lee Byung Hun, while Lee Se Young has been offered the role originally played by Han Hyo Joo.

“Gwanghae: The Man Who Became King” will tell the story of a low-ranking subject who happens to bear an extraordinary resemblance to King Gwanghae—and who eventually ends up posing as the king in court. Should Lee Se Young choose to take the role, she will be starring as Gwanghae’s queen.

Lee Se Young most recently appeared in the hit tvN drama “Hwayugi,” as well as the film “Duck Town.”
