Super Junior's Leeteuk And Sam Okyere To MC Chuseok Variety Special

Super Junior’s Leeteuk and Sam Okyere have been cast as MCs for KBS 1TV’s Chuseok special for “2018 Quiz on Korea.”

The two, who have been working as MCs and panelists in various entertainment programs, will show their teamwork through “2018 Quiz on Korea.” In response to the news of their casting, expectations are rising for Leeteuk, who’s proven his smooth MC-ing skills with his witty remarks, and Sam Okyere, a Ghanaian who practically knows Korea better than Koreans.

“Quiz on Korea” is an annual television game show hosted by KBS and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 2012 and aimed at spreading Hallyu, or the Korean wave. Since April this year, 21 countries, including Belarus, Cameroon and Egypt, have had fierce preliminaries, and only one foreign player from each country will compete in the show to test their knowledge of Korea. Representatives from each country will arrive in Korea on September 3 to experience an exploration of Korean culture for five days and four nights.

This year’s competition will involve various figures from all walks of life, including K-pop idol groups, popular celebrities, and citizens. In particular, it is said that even the production staff were surprised to find out about the special guests who were secretly invited to the show.

The Chuseok special of KBS 1TV’s “2018 Quiz on Korea” will be recorded on September 8 at 5 p.m. KST and air on September 24 at 12:10 p.m. KST.
