Red Velvet Dominates With "Power Up"; Soompi's K-Pop Music Chart 2018, August Week 4
Red Velvet’s “Power Up” dominated our chart this week, moving up from No. 13 to take over as our new No. 1 song! “Power Up” swept all the music shows last week and also topped GAON and all internet charts. It ranked third on our Soompi Airplay, the only thing that prevented a perfect score. Still, it is far ahead of the competition. Congratulations to Red Velvet!
“Power Up” is the title song from Red Velvet’s summer mini-album “Summer Magic.” It is an up-tempo dance track that is perfect for the summer season, with lyrics describing how one should play hard in order to power up your energy to work hard.
MAMAMOO’s former two week champion “Egotistic” is up one spot again to No. 2, while last week’s No. 1 song, iKON’s “KILLING ME,” is down two spots to No. 3 this week.
