Girl Group Vocalist Who Also Promoted In A Unit Impresses Audience On "The King Of Mask Singer"

The identity of “Chameleon” was revealed on the September 16 broadcast of MBC’s “The King of Mask Singer”!

In the first round, “Tropicbird” and “Chameleon” faced off as they performed 2NE1’s “Slow” as a duet.

Before the results of this round were announced, “Tropicbird” and “Chameleon” showed off some of their other talents, with the latter impressively dancing Wanna One’s “Energetic” at double the speed. Guest panelists JR of NU’EST and JooE of MOMOLAND expressed their certainty in “Chameleon” being an idol after watching her dance.

“Tropicbird” won the round with 75 votes to 24, and successfully moved while “Chameleon” had to subsequently unmask herself.

While performing MAMAMOO’s “Piano Man,” “Chameleon” revealed herself to be gugudan’s Nayoung!

Nayoung expressed, “For the first time ever really, I approached my agency first saying that I wanted to appear on ‘The King of Mask Singer.’ I originally had no confidence in my singing, but I gained a little bit while promoting in gugudan SEMINA. I think today is even more meaningful in that I was able to perform an entire song by myself like this.”

Backstage, Nayoung added, “I won’t be able to sleep tonight. I think I will never forget today, and I think I’ll replay everything that happened today in my head tonight. I never imagined that I would sing in front of many people like this.”
