Beyond The Stage: A Look At The BTS Members' Personal Fashion Styles
BTS is known for their eye-catching fashion in music videos, photoshoots, and epic live performances. But even when stylists aren’t helping them suit up, the members have gained reputations as fashionistas in their own right through their day-to-day style. Behind all the glamor and glitter of the stage, the BTS members have cultivated their own distinct fashion senses, as unique as each of the seven guys themselves. Delving into airport fashion, V Live looks, daily outfit tweets, and more, let’s decode the BTS members’ individual styles!
Jin: classic simplicity
Starting with the oldest member, Jin’s fashion tends to be clean-cut and put-together, for dignified looks that are befitting of the eldest hyung. He likes clothing with simple designs, which makes for elegant outfits that accentuate his model-like figure. Jin’s taste is also high-end: he has expressed a love of the luxury fashion brand Givenchy!
Jin looks effortlessly classy in button-downs and long coats.
When he does don something more casual, Jin still keeps it simple, going with an oversized hoodie or T-shirt to maintain that tidy look.
Comfy, straightforward fashion!
Simple shouldn’t be confused with boring, though: Jin has a playful personality that he allows to shine through in his fashion choices from time to time. One way he does this is by confidently rocking the color pink — a shade that not everyone can pull off this masterfully!
Suga: straightforward style
Suga likes to keep it comfortable, favoring clothing that is oversized and cozy. His style is a unique mix of brands: while he loves Japanese streetwear brands such as Visvim and Mastermind Japan (his favorite), he can often be found sporting bags, shoes, and accessories from high fashion designers such as Gucci, Balenciaga, and Cartier. True to his generally chill personality, Suga tends to stick to a muted color palette in his clothing. You can probably guess what his favorite hue is….
Yup! The man loves to wear black.
That’s not to say that Suga always wears all black, though, and he knows how to break up the monochrome with other neutral colors.
Suga is also a fan of flannels and hats — still with an emphasis on soft textures.
But, he also has a quirky side that is sometimes reflected in his wardrobe with a pop of color!
J-Hope: sunshine streetwear
It’s no surprise that J-Hope’s fashion sense matches his exuberant, sunshiny personality. His style is generally comfortable but experimental and eccentric, featuring bright colors and bold combinations of pieces that most of us wouldn’t dare to wear together — yet his bright personality allows him to pull these looks off flawlessly.
J-Hope is usually found rocking streetwear brands; his favorite is Supreme, but he also frequently sports Yeezy and Off-White. But Hobi sometimes throws some luxury designer brands into the mix: below, he combines a Stüssy headband and Puma shoes with a Balenciaga shirt and Supreme x Louis Vuitton sunglasses. The result is undoubtedly one of the most epic airport fashion looks of 2018:
The key to J-Hope’s fashion is his ability to rock unconventional pieces. He’s not afraid to show off his toned legs in above-the-knee shorts, and he is also one of the rare few who manages to look chic in bucket hats!
RM: street with a twist
RM’s style has evolved a lot over the years, with the common thread of trying unique looks and putting various pieces together in bold ways. Just like his multifaceted personality, his fashion sense is hard to categorize, as it encompasses everything from streetwear to softer, almost boho looks. RM has expressed a love of Japanese streetwear labels such as WTAPS, Neighborhood, and Yamamoto, and recently he has been sporting a lot of Visvim. From street style…
To comfy, laid-back looks…
RM gives us glimpses of his outfits through his aesthetic Twitter uploads with the #KimDaily hashtag. One more important thing to note: RM can pull off denim on denim like no other!
Jimin: effortlessly cool
Jimin’s fashion is the epitome of cool and chic, and he can often be seen rocking a loose-fitting shirt tucked into tight pants — a casual outfit that looks smoothly stylish on Jimin’s toned figure.
He frequently accessorizes his outfits with a pair of square-framed sunglasses or an edgy jacket, completing the effortlessly cool look. He also sports a lot of silver jewelry, usually wearing earrings and multiple silver rings.
Sunglasses and jackets add a chic flair to Jimin’s outfits.
While much of Jimin’s wardrobe appears to be casual, he also sometimes mixes it up with designer looks, including his favorite brand, Gucci.

V: luxury comfort
Comfort meets high-end fashion in V’s wardrobe, which can pretty much be summed up in one word: Gucci. V is often dressed head-to-toe in the designer brand, like in these four outfits:
V in Gucci, Gucci, Gucci, and… Gucci.
Aside from his love of the Italian designer, V probably has the most clearly defined style among the BTS members: his outfits themselves are usually a variation on wide, flowing black pants paired with button-down dress shirts featuring vivid patterns in bold colors.
When he’s not sporting his favorite brand, V still tends towards the designer: Hermes, Louis Vuitton, Burberry, and more. The man has expensive taste! V accents his outfits with a variety of designer bags, belts, and ties — often featuring Gucci’s stitched animal designs. Beret hats and glasses with light tints are some of his other favorite go-to accessories.

For his more casual looks, V goes for loose-fitting sweatshirts and slacks, and also looks impeccably put-together in neutral long coats:
Jungkook: casually practical
Junkook’s fashion tends to be the most laid-back of the members. In the past, the maknae’s wardrobe became infamous for an endearing reason: it was hilariously predictable!
White T-shirts and Tims, anyone?
But Jungkook exudes such a natural, understated masculinity in his go-to white T-shirt and Timberland boots that we can’t blame him for returning to this outfit again and again.
Over the years, Jungkook has expanded his style to include more varied colors and looks, incorporating beanies, jackets, and oversized hoodies — and branching out to different colored boots as well.
Jungkook’s favorite brands are H&M and TOPMAN, reflecting his emphasis on practical style. Although, he too has been known to sport streetwear brands such as Off-White and OBEY. He has also mastered the boyfriend look with his simple yet chic outfits:

Finally, we would be remiss in not mentioning the pinnacle of the BTS members’ off-stage fashion: their matching shirts featuring the hilarious meme faces of the group’s very own youngest members!
