The last episode of tvN’s Wednesday-Thursday drama “Familiar Wife” told the final story of Cha Joo Hyuk (played by Ji Sung) and Seo Woo Jin (played by Han Ji Min). After many mistakes and regrets, Joo Hyuk and Woo Jin found happiness again in their peaceful everyday life.

The two have changed from the past, because they realized how much they mean to each other. Although the situation where having to work all day and look after the kids was the same, they were no longer cold and annoyed at each other. Woo Jin was able to spread her wings freely, and Joo Hyuk was able to feel truly happy for her promotion. The drama gave viewers a full and satisfying happy ending by showing that as long as Joo Hyuk and Woo Jin remember how valuable this relationship is, their happiness will never perish.

The viewership ratings for the finale were also a happy ending. Across all paid platforms (cable, satellite, IPTV) nationwide, the episode received average viewership ratings of 7.9 percent and a peak of 8.6 percent. The drama ended by taking first place in viewership ratings for all channels in the time slot.

Ji Sung and Han Ji Min’s chemistry was one of the reasons for the show’s popularity. The character Cha Joo Hyuk, who is immature, full of mistakes, and sometimes pitiful, was able to draw out the sympathy of viewers with Ji Sung’s elaborate acting. The character Seo Woo Jin also allowed Han Ji Min to add the charming and confident Woo Jin as one of her greatest roles, with her delicate portrayal of various emotions. Ji Sung and Han Ji Min gained nicknames like ‘romance gurus’ and ‘chemistry makers’ along with the viewers’ love. Strong supporting actors like Jang Seung Jo, Kang Han Na, and VIXX’s N portraying a realistic and sometimes comedic office life that viewers were able to sympathize with was also a reason for the big attention towards the show.
