Idols Who Could Have Been Star Athletes

It’s Chuseok (Korean Thanksgiving), and you know what that means! It’s time to celebrate one of the most important holidays in Korea with the Chuseok special of “Idol Star Athletics Championship.”

Whenever this time of year comes around, fans reminisce about the idols who shined the brightest on the field and whose skills rivaled those of professional athletes.

Here are six memorable “Idol Star Athletics Championship” medalists who could have been athletes if they hadn’t become idols:

1. SHINee’s Minho

We all know of Minho’s incredible athletic abilities, especially on the soccer field, and his fiery competitive spirit. He previously won gold medals in both the 50-meter swimming race and the 50-meter hurdle race, and he also scored three goals during a single game of futsal. The idol even said himself that he would’ve been an athlete if he hadn’t become an idol.

2. BTOB’s Minhyuk

Minhyuk is another legendary “Idol Star Athletics Championship” participant. Not only did his impressive speed win him multiple gold medals in the 60-meter race, but he even set a new record in the high jump event.

3. Highlight’s Yoon Doojoon

Did somebody say soccer? You can’t leave out Yoon Doojoon, who is widely known for his passionate love of soccer, when talking about idol athletes. During the “2015 Idol Star Athletics Championship,” he made a winning goal during the futsal game and led his team to victory.

4. Goo Hara

Goo Hara once confidently claimed that her track and field skills had inspired the creation of the “Idol Star Athletics Championship.” The star even earned the nickname “Gusain Bolt” after proving that she could dash across the track as fast as a bullet.

5. Bora

Bora is also one of the legendary athletes of “Idol Star Athletics Championship.” She has achieved gold medals in hurdles, archery, the high jump, the relay race, and more. Her remarkable talent and her calm, focused expressions make her look like a professional athlete.
