First Lady Of South Korea Gifts BTS Commemorative Watches At UNICEF Event During The UN General Assembly
The First Lady of South Korea showed her appreciation to BTS with a special gift!
On September 24, BTS delivered an inspiring speech at a historic appearance at the 73rd UN General Assembly for the launch of UNICEF’s new “Generation Unlimited” initiative. “Generation Unlimited” is a new global partnership that is “dedicated to increasing opportunities and investments for children and young people aged 10 to 24.”
First Lady Kim Jung Sook attended the launch to share Korea’s experience of becoming a developed country through the education of youth, and with the hopes that more young people will have that opportunity.
The First Lady told BTS, “I’m proud of you. I sincerely congratulate you.” She also applauded them on their Billboard achievements, saying, “Through music, you are a source of strength for young people by representing their anxieties and worries about their futures.” She also gifted them commemorative Blue House watches with “President Moon Jae In” engraved on them, and BTS reportedly expressed their joy and gratitude.
