Seo Kang Joon And Esom Describe How They Became Close

At the press conference for their upcoming JTBC drama “The Third Charm” (working title), Seo Kang Joon and Esom talked about their friendly relationship and teamwork.

On September 27, the actors described their experience working together on the drama, in which they star as a couple of the same age. Esom said, “Seo Kang Joon is actually younger than me. So I thought that, in order for us to get close, I should be the one to start speaking informally first. But once I actually met him, I couldn’t do it. Seo Kang Joon then approached me first and said, ‘Noona, let’s speak comfortably [in informal language] to each other.’ I was thankful for that, and [afterwards], we were able to film the drama without feeling awkward.”

Seo Kang Joon added, “Once you get to know her, Esom can actually be a very delicate person. I thought that she might feel uncomfortable around me because I’m younger than her. I thought that it would be good for the drama for us to quickly get closer to each other, so I gathered a lot of courage and suggested that we speak comfortably to each other. But after filming like that for a day or two, I no longer feel the age difference.”

“The Third Charm” tells the story of a 12-year romance between On Joon Young (played by Seo Kang Joon) and Lee Young Jae (played by Esom), who first meet as 20-year-olds and end up falling in love with each other.

The drama is co-written by Park Hee Kwon, the writer behind the film “Flu,” and Park Eun Young, the writer behind the film “My Dear Enemy.” Producing director (PD) Pyo Min Soo, whose previous works include dramas “Full House,” “Worlds Within,” and “Producer,” will be directing the drama.

“The Third Charm” will begin airing on September 28 at 11 p.m. KST. Get acquainted with this upcoming drama by watching the teaser here!
