On September 28, media outlet Insight reported that a source from AOMG had denied the rumors surrounding HyunA’s recruitment into the agency.
The source stated, “It is true that we did contact HyunA’s stylist,” but continued, “It was to work with [AOMG] artist Elo.”
They revealed, “It was decided that HyunA’s stylist would take care of Elo’s style, since he is appearing in a new program. It seems there was a misunderstanding because that was the moment when articles about [HyunA and E’Dawn’s] removal from the company were being released. There were no discussions about recruiting HyunA.”
The rumors were strengthened by the fact that HyunA and AOMG’s CEO Jay Park are friends. The two were trainees at JYP Entertainment and also entered the entertainment industry around the same time as they debuted. In 2015, HyunA even appeared in Jay Park’s music video for “You Know.”
In response, the source stated, “That was truly just friends helping [each other] out. They’ve never worked on music [together] after that.”
Previously, Cube Entertainment removed HyunA and PENTAGON’s E’Dawn from the agency, stating that their trust had been breached. However, in just seven hours after this announcement, Shin Dae Nam, the head of Cube Entertainment, stated, “HyunA and E’Dawn’s removal from the agency is a matter that is still being discussed and nothing is finalized.”
