The cast of tvN’s “The Smile Has Left Your Eyes” expressed excitement about their drama!

On September 3, Seo In Guk, Jung So Min, Park Sung Woong, and Shin Eun Soo held a V Live broadcast ahead of their drama premiere. They described their characters, expressed trust in director Yoo Jae Won, and pointed out how their drama is different from the original that it’s based on.

Shin Eun Soo began, “I’m so nervous. I wasn’t nervous until this morning, but I think I’m getting nervous now. I thought that it would be nice if we watched it together.”

Seo In Guk said, “I think that we profoundly dealt with [the topic of] fate. It’s mysterious, but I think that the mysteriousness of it is an exaggeration of things that happen in real life around us and makes the drama more fun.”

The actors then explained their reasons for joining the drama. Seo In Guk stated, “I filmed the drama ‘King of High School‘ [with director Yoo Jae Won] in the past and have many fun memories from it. This came up while talking and I decided to do it.”

Park Sung Woong described the director as “a very fun person.” Seo In Guk added, “There’s something called an aftereffect that actors speak of. It’s an aftereffect about the director. He’s already feeling it.”

“It’s my first time acting with Seo In Guk,” said Park Sung Woong. “I watched his previous works and I thought that he didn’t seem like a singer. I think he’s completely transformed into an actor. I also enjoyed Jung So Min’s movie ‘Daddy You, Daughter Me.’ She’s really good at acting.”

“The Smile Has Left Your Eyes” is based on a popular Japanese drama called “100 Million Stars Falling from the Sky.”

About this, Jung So Min commented, “First, I could’ve felt pressure about the original drama, but the reason why I decided to appear in it was because of the way the script was written and because the  plot was really fun. He’s also a director who I really wanted to work with.”

Seo In Guk added, “The original drama is something that created a huge sensation. The plot and progression of the storyline were unthinkable. Those kinds of things became popular, but our drama’s script is really well-made. I thought that we won’t have to worry about those kinds of things and we’ll do well in our own way.”

About his character Moo Young, Seo In Guk explained, “A person like him probably exists somewhere. A person that’s like your destiny. He’s someone who has emotions that are difficult to see in everyday life and he has common sense as well. I think that at least one person like him must exist on this Earth. But he’s also a character who I’m glad has Jin Kang.”

Jung So Min described her character Jin Kang, saying, “She’s like a large snowflake. She’s a very complex character. She grew up into a bright, warm-hearted woman thanks to her brother, but she has loneliness in her that’s like a large snowflake in late winter.”

The cast concluded the broadcast by pointing out things to watch for in their drama, including a fatal melodrama, strong storyline, mystery melodrama, fateful encounter, and fateful farewell.
