Han Ye Ri Confesses She Once Had An Inferiority Complex About Her Looks
On the October 5 episode of MBC’s “Talk Nomad” (literal translation), Han Ye Ri revealed how she overcame her appearance complex through acting.
During the episode, host Kim Gu Ra asked if she has a special partner who recognizes her, and the actress answered it was the CEO of her label Saram Entertainment.
Han Ye Ri explained, “After seeing a picture [of me] in a movie magazine, he said he wanted to see me,” and Kim Gu Ra questioned, “Were there any trouble after that? Like [about] the distribution of profits?” Han Ye Ri laughed as she replied, “I don’t earn that much money.”
The actress revealed, “After entering the agency, I started filming commercial films. Each time, my CEO told me more frequently than my family that ‘Hye Ri is the prettiest in the world.’ That was amazing.”
Han Ye Ri, who majored in dancing, said, “I have heard a lot that [my] looks are not suitable for dancing. They said [my] face isn’t a big theater face. I experienced an inferiority complex about my looks my times, but I was often told that I have an attractive face when filming movies.”
Following her confession, Kim Gu Ra asked, “Do you know you’re a charming actress now?” and she honestly answered, “I’m not pretty, but I’m attractive.”
