Girls' Generation's Seohyun Expresses Frustration With Her Fixed Image
It’s been about 11 years since Seohyun debuted as a Girls’ Generation member, but she still has a “model student” image.
In a recent interview, the idol-turned-actress shared her frustrations about her fixed image. Because she set rules for herself and strictly managed herself starting from a young age, her members described her as someone who was like a model student with a disciplined life. She said, “That’s who I am, but that’s not all that I am. There are times I feel more frustrated.”
Seohyun continued, “It’s unfortunate that people make assumptions and judge me before they get to know me. However, I think I solved it while appearing in the drama ‘Time‘ this time. The advantage of my job is acting, but I think I become more touched and make more of a difference when I do something that doesn’t fit me.”
Seohyun made a continuous effort to add diversity to her fixed image. For example, she danced comically to SISTAR’s song in JTBC’s “Ask Us Anything” once, and she also played a character that was completely different from her image in “Time.”
She relayed her hopes to keep playing characters who will break her stereotypical image, saying, “I want to play a character who you don’t think of when you think of me. I feel pleased then. I want to show my charms that people don’t know about.”
