NU'EST's Ren Talks About Disciplinary Culture Among Idols
NU’EST’s Ren talked about the disciplinary culture within idols on “The Kkondae Live.”
On a recent broadcast of Mnet’s variety program “The Kkondae Live”, hip hop crew Kiff Clan appeared and exposed the actions of their member Webster B (Lee Ro Han).
During the broadcast, the Kiff Clan members took part in a hidden camera prank where member Webster B was seen often saying things such as “back in my day.” He was also seen telling fellow member Mayer Soo to order coffee and scolding him for being late.
MC Yoo Byung Jae, who was watching the VCR of the hidden camera prank, asked NU’EST’s Ren whether there is still a disciplinary culture amongst idols, to which Ren surprised everyone by answering, “It is actually very extreme in the case of idols.”
Ren continued on to add, “I was even called to the bathroom once. I had to do a full 90 degree bow if I ran into that person. I debuted in 2012, and it was worse back then.” Lee Kyung Kyu then made everyone laugh by saying, “It was like that back in my time too. I was once joking around telling my senior to hit me but then he actually hit me.”
Webster B received the “novice old man” score on the old man index test and drew laughter by promising to buy his friends beef whenever he says the words “back in my day.”
“The Kkondae Live” airs every Friday at 8:30 p.m. KST on Mnet.
