Moon Chae Won And Go Doo Shim Reveal What Drew Them To “Mama Fairy And The Woodcutter”

Moon Chae Won and Go Doo Shim, who play the same role in “Mama Fairy and the Woodcutter,” recently shared the reason behind choosing the drama as their next project.

tvN’s upcoming Monday-Tuesday drama “Mama Fairy and the Woodcutter” tells the story of a fairy who has been waiting for her husband to reincarnate for 699 years. While working as a barista in the modern day, Sun Ock Nam finally encounters two husband candidates, Jung Yi Hyun (played by Yoon Hyun Min) and Kim Geum (played by Seo Ji Hoon).

Moon Chae Won and Go Doo Shim revealed their thoughts about this drama. Moon Chae Won said, “To hear that a fairy spends her days as a barista while waiting 699 years for her husband, the story sounded so interesting. And I thought, ‘When would I get the chance to act as a fairy again?’ That’s why I was attracted to Sun Ock Nam.”

Go Doo Shim said, “It’s a traditional folktale that basically everyone in Korea knows. But adding this unique, creative element to the story sounded attractive to me.”

The two also talked about Sun Ock Nam’s character. Moon Chae Won described, “Sun Ock Nam is good-natured and right-minded. She loves her husband very much, and she loves the whole world and everything in it. I saw a lot of paintings in order to portray the image of a Korean traditional fairy. I didn’t want to copy something. I tried my best to create my own Sun Ock Nam.”

Go Doo Shim also showed affection towards her character, saying, “Sun Ock Nam is a beautiful character who has all the charming traits of a woman. I imagine and play out the script hundreds of times in my head. I have the scene perfectly drawn in my head while I’m acting.”

Viewers can finally meet Sun Ock Nam, who is loved by both Moon Chae Won and Go Doo Shim, in “Mama Fairy and the Woodcutter.” The drama is scheduled to premiere on November 5 at 9:30 p.m. KST, and you can also check it out on Viki soon!
