UNI.T’s Yang Jiwon responded to malicious rumors regarding herself and Jo Jung Suk.

In an interview with news outlet EDAILY, she said, “The rumors are not true. I was dumbfounded after listening to this story. I acted in a drama with him few years ago. We only contact each other through group chats once or twice a year. I have never met him privately or exchanged any calls or messages with him in five years.”

She added, “He’s a married man, and I am also in a relationship with someone else. The rumors are just pitiful, but they hurt me. I have been affected by these kind of rumors twice, so I know what kind of damages these rumors bring to the person. I hope that the people who spread this rumor get proper punishment.”

Jo Jung Suk’s agency is the next to take legal action against malicious rumors.

On October 17, rumors arose online saying that Jo Jung Suk and UNI.T’s Yang Jiwon are in a relationship.

Jo Jung Suk recently got married to Gummy, while Yang Jiwon has revealed that she has a non-celebrity boyfriend.

Jo Jung Suk’s agency JS Company released an official statement regarding the rumors on October 18, emphasizing that they will no longer tolerate the rumors regarding Jo Jung Suk and will take strong legal action against them.

The statement begins, “Currently, an absurd and malicious rumor about Jo Jung Suk is spreading via Internet communities. Since Jo Jung Suk is a popular actor who is widely loved, we have been tolerating most groundless rumors and did not take strong action.”

The agency continues, “However, it has come to a point where we cannot just leave these rumors to be spread. Not only Jo Jung Suk himself, but his loving family members have become the target of ridiculous speculation.”

“From now on, JS Company will take strong legal action against all Internet posts or comments with malicious rumors, false information, or personal attacks that can defame our artist’s honor. We will not show any kind of tolerance in taking strong legal action and will actively put in effort to stop any more damage from happening,” the statement concludes.
