3 Things That Will Define Seo In Guk And Jung So Min's Fate In

As their lives continue to become more entangled with each other’s, Seo In Guk and Jung So Min’s end fate in “The Smile Has Left Your Eyes” becomes even more mysterious.

“The Smile Has Left Your Eyes” is a melodrama about Kim Moo Young (played by Seo In Guk), whose fate is entangled with Yoo Jin Kang’s (played by Jung So Min), though he toys around with her and her best friend Baek Seung Ah (played by Seo Eun Soo).

Amidst his dark manipulation, Yoo Jin Kang’s brother detective Yoo Jin Kook (played by Park Sung Woong) looks into Kim Moo Young as he harbors suspicions as to who Kim Moo Young really is.

Here are three key things that appear to signal the direction of Seo In Guk and Jung So Min’s fate.

1. The identical burn marks on Seo In Guk and Jung So Min

From the first time they met, Kim Moo Young and Yoo Jin Kang had a strange attraction towards each other. Previously, due to the mistake of a brewery employee, Yoo Jin Kang’s burn scar on her right arm was revealed.

Even more surprising was the fact that Kim Moo Young also had burn marks similar to her’s, from his shoulder to his right arm. The burns are a key detail that connects them, shrouded in some fiery past.

2. The missing child flyer Park Sung Woong brings out after 25 years

Yoo Jin Kook has always had a sense of deja vu from Kim Moo Young, and held him at arm’s length. In particular, he previously was shocked after finding out about Kim Moo Young’s burn scars. The detective’s colleague Lee Kyung Chul (played by Choi Byung Mo) also made the surprising revelation that Yoo Jin Kook and Yoo Jin Kang are not biological siblings.

Tak So Jung (played by Jang Young Nam) also hinted at the two men’s complicated past by mentioning, “Just because Kim Moo Young has a few burns on his arm, does that mean he’s the kid from that time?” Afterwards, Yoo Jin Kook revealed a missing child flyer from 25 years ago at his house, and appeared quite agitated.

3. The picture of the four-person family treasured by Seo In Guk

So far the only aspects of Kim Moo Young’s mysterious past that have been revealed are that he was an orphan who grew up in the same town as Yoo Jin Kang and Yoo Jin Gook, and that his father was a policeman. Previously, he took out a picture of a four-person family, which he looked at tenderly. The picture appeared to have been drawn by a child, and consisted of two parents and two little boys.

“The Smile Has Left Your Eyes” airs every Wednesday and Thursday at 9:30 p.m. KST.
