Watch: EXO's D.O. Is A Tap Dancing Troublemaker In New

One of the most anticipated films for the end of 2018, “Swing Kids,” starring EXO’s D.O., has unveiled its first two trailers: a “rhythm” version and a “swing” version.

From director Kim Hyung Chul of “Scandal Makers,” “Sunny,” and “Tazza: The Hidden Card,” “Swing Kids” is set in a 1951 prison camp, where a motley crew of people called the “Swing Kids” band together for their love of tap dancing. D.O. is joined by Park Hye Soo, Oh Jung Se, Kim Min Ho, and actor-choreographer-dancer Jared Grimes.

The “rhythm” version of the teaser starts with Roh Ki Soo (D.O.) watching a tap dancer through a crack in a door. He says in North Korean dialect, “The way my heart pounds day and night when I hear that sound, even thinking about it excites me. Tap dance, it’ll drive a person crazy.”

Roh Ki Soo finds his way to the sound and meets the crew: Jackson (Jared Grimes), the leader, Yang Pan Re (Park Hye Soo), who translates for the group to make money, Kang Byung Sam (Oh Jung Se), who joined the group to find his wife, and Xiao Fang (Kim Min Ho), who has a natural talent for dance.

The “swing” version of the trailer gives us a glimpse of the camp troublemaker that Roh Ki Soo is, as he somehow gets an entire crowd chanting his name. When Jackson shows him what tap dancing is, Roh Ki Soo says, “You just hit the ground and it’s not even like dance. That’s nothing. Let’s battle. With tap dance.”
