VIXX's Hyuk Talks About Playing The Saxophone For New Film

VIXX’s Hyuk shared his thoughts on his latest film “Happy Together” (literal title).

On November 7, Hyuk attended the film’s press conference in Seoul.

Hyuk said, “I wanted to appear in a film that had a genre related to music or play a character who performed on stage. I received an opportunity to participate with many good actors and happily decided to appear in it.”

In the film, Hyuk portrays a young man named Ha Neul, and he played saxophone for this role. “It was difficult,” explained the VIXX member. “This was my first time playing the saxophone and it’s an instrument that somewhat resembles the sound of a person’s voice or vocal cords. In the beginning, it was difficult to blow it and make noises. It took a while to make sound come out. After practicing, the sound came out well and I became ambitious. It was fun and I actually played it while filming.”

About appearing in a film with senior actors such as Park Sung Woong and Song Sae Byuk, he said, “I was motivated just by them being there. I felt a lot of things just from their charisma.” He continued, “The way they talked and their gestures before filming made me feel as if I was already watching a movie. I enjoyed observing them.”

“Happy Together” tells the story of a single dad who gave up his dream of pursuing music for his son, a son who thinks his dad looks the coolest while playing the saxophone, and a saxophonist who happens to cross their path. The film will premiere on November 15.
