Song Seung Heon and Krystal’s drama, “The Player” came to a successful end.

The finale episode of OCN’s Saturday-Sunday drama “The Player” reached its highest viewership ratings yet with an average of 5.8 percent and highest 6.7 percent in all paid platforms including cable, IPTV, and satellite. The drama took first place in viewership ratings for all programs airing in the same time slot.

“The Player” was also able to take first place in viewership ratings for OCN’s target audience, male and female audiences between 25 and 49, scoring an average of 4.6 percent and highest 5.4 percent in all paid platforms according to Nielsen Korea.

In the final episode, Kang Ha Ri (played by Song Seung Heon) successfully performed the ultimate plan to avenge “him” (played by Kim Jong Tae). It was all thanks to the genius hacker Lim Byung Min (played by Lee Si Eon) and the top-notch fighter Do Jin Woong (played by Tae Won Suk), who helped Kang Ha Ri although they become wanted criminals. The evil deeds and the identity of “him” were revealed to the world through a live broadcast. Although “he” became violently desperate, Kang Ha Ri said, “If people like you return, people like me return too. You lost this game,” sending a refreshing blast to viewers at the end.

Other weekend dramas such as KBS 2TV’s “My Only One” scored 28.4 percent and 33.1 percent. MBC’s “My Healing Love,” which aired four consecutive episodes, scored 8.7 percent, 9.4 percent, 8.9 percent, and 9.2 percent respectively. tvN’s “Room No. 9” scored 4.6 percent.
