Boys Republic's Suwoong Signs With New Agency Following Group's Indefinite Hiatus

Boys Republic’s Suwoong has signed an exclusive contract with Hwayi Brothers.

On November 15, a source from Hwayi Brothers Korea announced in a press release, “We have recently become one family with Lee Suwoong, who has shown diverse potential. We will do our best to assist Lee Suwoong’s path, as he has decided to take off as an actor as well as a singer.” The agency houses numerous actors such as Yoo Hae Jin, Joo Won, Lee Dong Hwi, and more.

On his start with his new agency, Suwoong shared, “I want to show a variety of new sides to myself. I will always do my best, so please watch over me and send a lot of support.”

Suwoong debuted in five-member group Boys Republic in 2013, and has participated in various albums and domestic as well as foreign promotions. He previously appeared on KBS’s “The Unit,” where he made a lasting impression. Last September, it was announced that Boys Republic would be going on an indefinite hiatus. The group released their fifth and indefinitely final single “Ending Credit,” which included the song “Star (You’re My).”

The Boys Republic member took on his first acting project with web drama “The Alchemist,” and also appeared in JTBC’s “Listen to Love.”

Since the group’s indefinite hiatus and moving to his new agency, his first work will be in the country’s first 3D VR romance drama “Secret Romance.” In it, he will be starring as NIS agent Han Woo Jin, who is passionate about his work and begins a romance with cute but mysterious Chinese tourist Roo Yi (played by Cao Lu).
