Watch: EXO's D.O. Is A Tap Dancing Prisoner In New Retro

A new retro-themed teaser for “Swing Kids” has been released!

“Swing Kids” will tell the story of passionate members from a chaotic dance troop called Swing Kids, which started at a Geoje city prison camp in 1951. Director Kang Hyung Cheol, who is famous for his previous works such as “Sunny” and “Scandal Makers,” which told humorous, but touching stories, will return to viewers with “Swing Kids.”

The newly-released teaser is edited in black and white, emphasizing the film’s setting in the 1950s. The teaser also describes the Geoje city prison camp, which was the biggest prison camp built to hold North Korean and Chinese soldiers in South Korea under the UN’s supervision after the Korean War.

Due to this special setting, the Swing Kids dance troop will have characters from many different backgrounds including South Korea, North Korea, the United States, and China.

Director Kang Hyung Cheol previously said, “The Geoje city prison camp in the 1950s was a more distinct place than today’s Itaewon. We tried to perfectly reenact the historical setting as accurately as possible.”

The characters’ passionate attitudes towards dancing as well as their unique performances will touch the hearts of many viewers and allow them to experience fun.

Check out the retro teaser video below.

“Swing Kids” will premiere on December 19. Stay tuned for more updates!
