With this year’s much-anticipated ceremony coming up on Saturday, December 1, the 2018 Melon Music Awards has shared three things that viewers should keep in mind.
1. Seeing top idols + finding out the hidden artists
So far, the 2018 Melon Music Awards has announced the following artists on its performer line-up: MAMAMOO, BTS, Bolbbalgan4, BTOB, Wanna One, Apink, BLACKPINK, and iKON. You can check out descriptions of some of their planned special performances here. The ceremony will also include a performance by the idol dancers of “Dance War.”
On November 30, a source from Melon said, “There are ‘hide-and-seek’ artists who haven’t yet been announced.” They added, “Just as voting is open until midnight on November 30, one way to increase the fun of the broadcast is to try to guess the winners and who will be appearing.”
2. A star-studded line-up of attendees
The ceremony boasts of amazing performances, and it will also have a line-up of top star attendees that are just as impressive. This year, stars from various fields that will be attending to enjoy the show include Lee Dong Wook, Lee Young Ja, Son Tae Young, Lee Sang Yoon, Choi Daniel, Lee Sang Yeob, Nam Ji Hyun, Lee Yoo Bi, Jung So Min, Park Sung Gwang, and more.
3. A look back on the 10-year history of the Melon Music Awards
With the Melon Music Awards celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, the show will be telling all about the history of the ceremony, which has been growing right along with the development of Korea’s music industry. This year’s ceremony will share the story of the music fans, artists, and industry professionals who have made the Melon Music Awards what it is today.
The 2018 Melon Music Awards will take place on December 1 at the Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul. It starts at 7 p.m. KST, and it will be broadcast on JTBC 2, JTBC 4, Melon, 1theK, kakaoTV, and Daum.
