Dok2 To Release New Track In Wake Of Recent Controversy

Dok2 will be releasing a new track amidst criticism of how he handled fraud accusations against his mother.

On November 30, Dok2 posted a teaser image for his upcoming track and wrote, “I will explain everything through the track. I’m not trying to take advantage of the controversy by releasing a song. I just felt that as a rapper, it was the right thing to do, whether I’m right or wrong [in my belief]. My new single ‘Watch What You Say’ (literal title) will be released next Monday at 6 p.m.”

Earlier this month, Dok2 came under fire after he responded to fraud accusations against his mother via a live broadcast on Instagram. During the broadcast, he pointed out that the lender had brought up the issue in the wake of the fraud case involving Microdot’s parents. However, netizens began to criticize Dok2 for how he handled the issue, including the way he talked about 10 million won (approximately $8,900), the amount his mother borrowed, as if it were a trivial sum. He later released a statement in which he explained the details of the debt, apologized, and shared that he and the victim had come to an agreement.

Dok2’s new track “Watch What You Say” will be released on December 3 at 6 p.m. KST.
