Jo Jae Hyun's Lawsuit Against Actress For Blackmail Is At A Standstill

Actor Jo Jae Hyun’s lawsuit against the Korean-Japanese actress who accused him of sexual assault (hereafter referred to as “A”) for blackmail has reached a standstill.

December 10, Jo Jae Hyun’s legal representative said, “We are in contact with the lawyer of the Korean-Japanese actress ‘A’ through mail. According to the lawyer, A will not be coming to Korea. The case against ‘A’ for attempted blackmail is currently under a suspension of indictment.”

Jo Jae Hyun’s legal rep added that while they had planned to sue “A” for false accusations and defamation, she hasn’t brought any legal charges against Jo Jae Hyun. “She isn’t even returning to Korea for the investigation into her attempted blackmail.”

Following the suspension of indictment, the prosecutor in charge of the case obtained an arrest warrant for “A.”

Previously, in June, “A” brought sexual assault allegations against Jo Jae Hyun, claiming that the actor forced himself on her in a broadcasting station bathroom in 2002. However, Jo Jae Hyun staunchly denied the claims, saying it was a consensual act and that he has been blackmailed by the actress’s mother for 10 years.
