Kim Tae Woo's Agency Responds To Fraud Accusations Against His Father-In-Law

After a petition about g.o.d member Kim Tae Woo’s father-in-law appeared on the Blue House website, his agency responded on December 13.

The petition began, “I’m accusing Kim, g.o.d’s Kim Tae Woo’s father-in-law and his wife Kim Ae Ri’s father, of fraud.”

The accuser stated that their father got a mortgage on their home to lend Kim Tae Woo’s father-in-law money in 1992 and did not receive the money back. In the end, the accuser’s house was auctioned off and they were forced to move into the basement of Kim’s home.

They wrote, “While my father was working in Andong, Kim ran away to America.” The accuser said they filed a criminal complaint at the time, and they are aware that Kim returned to Korea. They questioned if there was a stay of prosecution in place, and said that Kim was refusing to meet with them.

They continued, “I really hope that Kim will contact me through Kim Tae Woo and Kim Ae Ri, and that he’ll keep his unfulfilled promise from 26 years ago if he’s a human being.”

Kim Tae Woo’s agency then released a response. The statement is as follows:

“Hello. This is Soul Shop Entertainment.

“First, we want to sincerely apologize that a controversy occurred regarding Kim Tae Woo and his father-in-law.

“After checking the information in the original petition, we think that it was posted by the daughter of the person involved in an incident in 1992.

“We know that that this was an incident that occurred between 1992 and 1996 involving an executive named Kang at Kim Tae Woo’s father-in-law’s company, and not Kim Tae Woo’s father-in-law. Kang was charged by the petitioner’s father and the incident was resolved after they settled. Also, his father-in-law Kim is currently residing in Korea, has never run away, and has never received a criminal complaint or calls to repay debt. We want to inform you that it’s possible to contact him at any time.

“Kim Tae Woo’s father-in-law Kim divorced his wife in 1985 and the father-in-law did not attend Kim Tae Woo’s wedding in 2011.

“It’s true that we are flustered after learning about the petition. However, no matter the circumstance, we want to apologize for causing a controversy. Kim Tae Woo and Soul Shop Entertainment will actively cooperate so that this can be resolved smoothly.”

Kim Tae Woo wed Kim Ae Ri in 2011 and they have three children together.
