MAMAMOO’s Agency RBW Responds To Reactions To Hwasa’s 2018 MAMA Performance Outfit

MAMAMOO’s agency RBW has responded after Hwasa’s recent performance at the 2018 MAMA Fans’ Choice in Japan became a hot topic.

MAMAMOO took to the stage at the 2018 MAMA Fans’ Choice in Japan on December 12 with each member showing their talents through solo stages as well as the group’s performances of “Egotistic” and “Starry Night.”

Hwasa wore a red bodysuit for the performance, and after the show, articles about Hwasa’s performance and outfit ranked high on the list of portal Naver’s most-viewed articles. As of 11 a.m. KST on December 13, Hwasa was at No. 1 on the list of rising realtime search terms on Naver.

There were mixed reactions, with many people saying they enjoyed watching because she looked confident and cool, while others said they felt embarrassed to watch with their family members. One commenter said, “I was taken aback by it, but she was so cool and sexy.”

A source from MAMAMOO’s agency RBW has responded, “We didn’t know the outfit would become such a topic of discussion. We just chose an outfit that fit well with the song she was singing on stage, as we usually do.”
