SBS’s “The Last Empress” shows no signs of slowing down!

According to Nielsen Korea, “The Last Empress” achieved its highest viewership ratings yet with its December 13 episode, which scored average nationwide ratings of 11.0 percent during its first half and 14.0 percent during its second.

Not only did “The Last Empress” break its own viewership record and take first place in its time slot across all channels, but it was also the most-watched drama of the night, with ratings peaking at an impressive 18.31 percent.

MBC’s “Children of Nobody” took second place in its time slot with average viewership ratings of 4.3 percent and 4.8 percent for the evening, while KBS 2TV’s “Feel Good to Die” came in at third with ratings of 1.9 percent and 2.5 percent.

tvN’s “Encounter,” which aired in a slightly different time slot (9:30 p.m. KST as opposed to 10 p.m. KST), continued to enjoy strong viewership ratings. The December 13 episode of the drama scored an average of 8.6 percent and a peak of 10.1 percent (though it is worth noting that viewership ratings are calculated slightly differently for cable network dramas).

Additionally, both “The Last Empress” and “Encounter” continued to perform well with the key demographic of viewers ages 20 to 49. The December 13 broadcast of “The Last Empress” scored average ratings of 4.3 percent and 5.7 percent for its two parts among viewers ages 20 to 49, while “Encounter” drew an average viewership of 4.4 percent for the night.
