Epic Games Releases Statement Regarding Seolhyun's Health
On December 17, Epic Games Korea released a statement wishing for AOA’s Seolhyun’s fast recovery.
During AOA’s performance at Fortnite Korea Open 2018 on December 15, Seolhyun looked visibly ill and was staggering from a wave of dizziness. Some fans also seemed to have witnessed her fainting.
FNC Entertainment released an update on Seolhyun’s condition following the doctor’s diagnosis, saying Seolhyun was suffering from mild cold symptoms along with hyperventilation due to the hot air and large amount of people indoors. FNC added that Seolhyun is currently in much better condition.
In their statement, Epic Games said, “After seeing the statement from Seolhyun’s agency saying, ‘Seolhyun felt dizzy from the gunpowder used during the stage at the Fortnite Korea Open 2018 event, and she was moved directly to the hospital,” we checked with the company that was in charge of the entire event, Cheil Worldwide, that gunpowder was not used during the stage. FNC Entertainment has also acknowledged and corrected their statement after double checking.” According to Cheil Worldwide, they used a product that’s colorless, odorless, and proven to be harmless to the human body.
The organizers added, “Epic Games Korea considers the health of the entire cast who participates in our event to be our top priority. We are thankful for Seolhyun, as well as all the AOA members, for showcasing a great performance on stage despite not being in top condition. We are sincerely hoping for Seolhyun’s fast recovery.”
Seolhyun has also communicated with fans about her condition through her Instagram account where she thanked fans for expressing their concern.
