The first elimination took place on the December 21 episode of “YG Treasure Box.”

On the sixth episode of the idol survival show, the trainees competed in two-versus-two unit battles as well as individual battles to see who will make it to the final debut group.

Jang Yunseo and Keita were chosen as the two additional challengers. Since they trained for a long time, they showed off exceptional talent and were able to receive the chance to fight for their dreams.

Jang Yunseo faced off against Kim Junkyu where they sang Crush’s “Beautiful.” The “treasure makers” (100 YG employees), as well as Yang Hyun Suk, voted for Kim Junkyu, who kept his position in the competition.

Keita went up against Haruto, who had achieved the highest ranking in Treasure J. They put on a groovy performance of OLNL’s “Oh Yeah” and the “treasure makers” voted for Keita. He commented, “I can’t believe it, but I’ll work harder than anyone else in order to keep this position.” Haruto, who had received Yang Hyun Suk’s vote, shed tears on stage.

As a result, Bang Yedam, Kim Junkyu, Ha Yoonbin, Keita, Kim Yeongue, So Junghwan, and Mashiho became the new members of Treasure 7. Yang Hyun Suk announced, “Next, we’ll choose Treasure 6,” and the next round of competitions began where two-versus-two unit position changes took place after forming three sets of pairs.

Bang Yedam, Kim Junkyu, and Ha Yoonbin—who ranked the top three during the last competition— could choose their team member. Choosing Keita, Bang Yedam said, “He’s a rapper who can also sing, which is rare.” Kim Junkyu chose Mashiho and Ha Yoonbin picked Kim Yeongue. So Junghwan commented, “I don’t know what this feeling is. I feel upset at the older members.”

The 21 contestants in the trainee group also formed 11 pairs including Kim Seunghun and Mahiro, Choi Hyunsuk and Jung Junhyuk, Haruto and Park Jungwoo, and more. Yoon Jaehyuk and Yun Siyun, who only trained for seven months, had difficulty choosing a song for the competition.

WINNER appeared on the show as special judges. Kim Seunghun and Lee Byounggon, Kim Doyoung and Gil Dohwan, and Park Jeongwoo and Haruto’s units were chosen. The remaining eight units competed in one-on-one battles, instantly transforming from teammates to competitors.

Yoshinori said, “I don’t want to be eliminated, but I also don’t like you being eliminated,” and the trainees expressed sadness in having to compete against one another. During his visit to Kobe, Yoshinori said, “My dad passed away when I was in middle school.” Crying in front of his father’s tombstone, he said, “My dad’s not here, but I’m going to take good care of my mom and sister, so don’t worry.”

Best friends Yoshinori and Mahiro were up first. In the end, Yoshinori won and Mahiro became the first trainee to be eliminated off the show.
