"The Drug King" Cast Celebrates 1 Million Moviegoers

“The Drug King” has achieved over 1 million moviegoers.

As of December 23 at 8 a.m. KST, “The Drug King” achieved 1,002,752 moviegoers, officially surpassing their 1 million milestone. To celebrate their achievement, cast members Song Kang Ho, Jo Jung Suk, Kim Dae Myung, Kim So Jin, and director Woo Min Ho posed for a photo with Christmas-themed headbands and a cake that says, “When it’s Christmas, it’s ‘The Drug King!'” Bae Doona was unable to take part in the photo as she was in France for work.

“The Drug King” is set in 1970s Busan, and follows drug smuggler Lee Doo Sam (played by Song Kang Ho) who becomes a legendary drug lord. Prosecutor Kim In Goo (played by Jo Jung Suk) pursues Lee Doo Sam, while Kim Jung Ah (played by Bae Doona) helps him build his drug empire.

The film premiered on December 19 in Korea.
