Shiny Foundation And Korea Music Copyright Association Join Hands To Provide Funding For Musicians

The Korea Music Copyright Association (KOMCA) has teamed up with the Shiny Foundation, which was created by the family of SHINee’s Jonghyun, to provide funding for musicians.

On December 20, 10 teams attended a ceremony held at KOMCA Hall where they were given funds to support their creative process. KOMCA, which strives to protect the rights of music creators, joined hands with the Shiny Foundation, a foundation created by the family of SHINee’s Jonghyun to help struggling musicians through various projects and funds.

Lee Young Won from Sonic Stones, one of the teams who received the funding, stated, “Receiving such a meaningful fund motivates me to work harder as a musician. We are sincerely grateful to KOMCA for always working towards the betterment of the welfare of musicians, and we are grateful to the Shiny Foundation, who are doing good work for the betterment of music and the arts.”

KOMCA president Hong Jin Young stated, “We sincerely want to thank the Shiny Foundation for making this possible. We believe their actions were on behalf of Jonghyun, who was a member of our association and created great music for us to remember. We will do our best to keep supporting musicians so they can go on and create beautiful music.”
