Red Velvet Is Only K-Pop Artist To Make Billboard's 50 Best MVs Of 2018
Red Velvet was the only K-pop artist to land a music video on Billboard’s year-end list of “The 50 Best Music Videos of 2018: Critics’ Picks”!
On December 26 local time, Billboard published its curated list of the staff’s 50 favorite music videos released in 2018.
Red Velvet’s colorful and visually striking music video for “Power Up”—the only K-pop song to make this year’s list—came in at No. 21. Billboard playfully described the video’s appeal by writing, “Anytime you see a video that starts with an amp cable being plugged into a pineapple, you know you’re probably in for a good time.”
“Power Up,” which was released in August as the title track of Red Velvet’s mini album “Summer Magic,” was a smash hit that earned the group their very first “perfect all-kill” (meaning the song swept all major daily and realtime music charts in Korea, as well as iChart’s weekly chart).
Congratulations to Red Velvet!
