"The Last Empress" Cast End 2018 On A High Note With Cheerful Behind-The-Scenes Photos

On January 1 KST, SBS released some behind-the-scenes photos from the set of “The Last Empress.”

Even as the year changed, the hardworking attitudes of the cast and crew remained the same. Jang Nara, Choi Jin Hyuk, Shin Sung Rok, Shin Eun Kyung, Lee Elijah, Yoon So Yi, Lee Hee Jin, Oh Seung Yoon, and Oh Ah Rin remained cheerful even in the face of a cold set and difficult work, smiling brightly at each other and the camera.

Jang Nara continues to impress viewers with her beauty in the elaborate traditional costumes of an empress, but occasionally breaks her character’s regal bearing to make V-poses at the camera. Although Choi Jin Hyuk plays a tsundere-type character in the drama, the actor is always quick with a smile and a reaction for his co-stars during filming. Shin Sung Rok reportedly entertains the cast with his unique humor, making up ad-libs on the spot while filming and making everyone laugh.

“The Last Empress” is set in an alternate universe where Korea is ruled by a constitutional monarchy and tells the story of a musical actress who gets sucked into the secrets and corruption of the royal family. The drama recently took home some awards at the 2018 SBS Drama Awards.
