Jinyoung Shares His Plans, Thoughts On B1A4's Future, And More

B1A4’s Jinyoung opened up about the group, his career, and more in an interview with the press.

Jinyoung made his debut as an actor in the 2013 tvN drama “She is Wow” and has appeared in many other dramas, such as the hit “Moonlight Drawn by Clouds.” Soon, he will be taking the starring role in a movie for the first time.

When asked if he has completely transformed into solely an actor, Jinyoung replied, “Right now, I am showing you my acting side, but I’m going to continue with music because I’m still composing.”

He was also asked if B1A4 will ever reunite as five members. He answered, “B1A4 hasn’t disbanded. There is a possibility that B1A4 will do activities as a whole again. WM Entertainment announced that, and I am on the same page as them. Also, I am hoping that will happen.”

Then Jinyoung shared, “Actually, I started off as an actor. Ever since I was in my third year of middle school, I really wanted to act, so I went to Seoul from Chungju to learn how to act. I appeared in many minor roles. I was envious of the leads while playing those minor roles. My first minor role was in ‘My Mom, Supermom,’ and I also appeared in ‘Crisis Escape No. 1’. I played a minor role in the movie “My Love” as well and was in awe when I saw Lee Yeon Hee.”

While playing minor roles, Jinyoung thought he wanted to become an actor who takes good care of the people around him. He said, “I’ve been in many minor roles as well, so I also wanted to be an actor who would take care of all those people.”

When asked about the difference between the charms of being a singer and actor, Jinyoung said, “After you’ve acted in something, you receive reactions or feelings indirectly. When you sing, you get a direct response. I think that’s the difference in the charm of the two things.”

Jinyoung’s upcoming movie “The Man Inside Me” is a fantastical comedy about a man named Pan Soo (Park Sung Woong) and a high school student named Dong Hyun (Jinyoung) whose souls get switched due to an accident. Crazy antics ensue when Pan Soo, in Dong Hyun’s body, meets his first love Mi Sun (Ra Mi Ran) and the daughter he never knew he had (Lee Soo Min).

“The Man Inside Me” will be opening on January 9.
